DeK~TuKas:

What do you think of Lithuanian music and its performers? Do you think you could cross Lithuanian borders with your music?

Lithuanian music is often forward of its performers (it’s a pity that a great part of this music remains deep in one’s drawers, covered with dust and stamped OUT OF FORMAT). At the same time, not all the music performed by Lithuanians can be called music (it happens when people try to make of music as much money as possible). However, Lithuanians have a great potential, as they are persistent and demanding when they are doing something they like. If there are more performers who do what they like most, we will be able to witness Lithuanian music cross Lithuanian borders, as you call it. I am doing what I want to, and I am doing that the best I can. We’ll see, what the future brings :)

Tuna:

When do you intend releasing your next album?

I hope that the second album will not be made in a hurry, like "Aukso pieva”. It is important to me not just to write a song, but also to find the best possible sound of it, and the best form of its presentation. Therefore I cannot and don’t want to tell an exact date. All I know is that there won’t be any creative break so far and that the second album will be a little different from the first one.

Gaudentas:

What do you think of your fans’ website http://jurga.tinkle.lt?

The fans’ website is wonderful just because it is the first website of Jurga’s fans :) When you put your heart into something, criticism is not always welcome. I have visited it and I intend revisiting. I am. :)

Caroline:

Are you going to give concerts abroad? If yes, when would that be?

At the time being, my management agency is trying to make contacts. I cannot promise that it will happen soon, but we will keep on trying till we succeed :). In the short run, I suppose, it is more realistic to give concerts in the Baltic States. Follow the news. :)

Mindaugas:

What kind of music do you listen to? What bands/performers do you like?

I listen to the music that inspires me, and I ignore the music that does not say anything or carries “a negative message”. I am inspired by: Skin (ex Skunk Anansie), Pink Floyd, Sting, Peter Gabriel ("Passion", "Growing up" tour), David Bovie, Cocteau Twins, Fiona Apple, Deep Forest, Enigma, Anthony & The Johnsons, Zemfira, Frank Zappa, music by Martynas Kuliavas ("Fragmentai" with Arina and Bovy project with M.Mikutavicius), etc.

Vaidotas:

How did you come up with the name of your debut album “Aukso Pieva" (Field of Gold)?

Producer Andrius Mamontovas is the godfather of "Aukso Pieva". I remember puzzling my brain, writing down tens of names, striking them through, and then Andrius just said: “Let it be “Aukso Pieva” – after all, all songs basically whirl around it”. That was it; we’ve made the decision. :) Sometimes the right answer is just under your nose.

Edgaras[Z] (creator of jurga.tinkle.lt):

What is your opinion about the pop group YVA =]? What kind of higher education have you accomplished? Do you like being a compère of LIETUVOS DAINU DESIMTUKAS (Top Ten Lithuanian Songs) TV program? Which foreign star do you consider as an example for you? Could you organize a meeting with your fans? Will the next album of yours be as emotional as the first one?

I have an opinion about the group YVA. :) However, I try not to say some of my thoughts aloud, as they cannot change anything. What concerns “Lietuvos dainu desimtukas", this is almost the only opportunity to present one’s work and oneself to the public, no matter what style you represent, and no matter if you are an old-timer, or a newcomer. Yet there’s lack of initiative from those, whose music would add something new to sometimes boring and unvaried pop music. To be honest, LDD contributed to my creative work as well – I have created something that was missing in Lithuanian music, I suppose. :). I do not classify foreign stars, as well as Lithuanian ones, into examples and non-examples. I suppose, what they do, what kind of music do they make and how do they present their music is much more important. Therefore, for example, sometimes I watch recorded concerts even of those performers, to whose music I would never listen. This might be an outcome of the fact that my studies (journalism and public relations) had nothing to do with music, and I’m just interested. However, in most cases, it is important to me to find out if I can learn something from so-called stars, or not. For instance, "Cocteau Twins" with their “bird language” is important to me as evidence that the world needs originality and inner freedom. Otherwise you become less important to the world and yourself. First of all, I suppose, fans should concentrate (as far as I know, the age of my fans varies from 5 to 60 years :) ), and then we will think of something. Something nice, warm and promising. It might be a meeting by a fireplace in the woods or something like that. :) Concerning the second album… I am an emotional person, who likes melodious music, and sometimes – ironic texts. Looking at the song I have at the time being, I can say that the second album will be more “outlived”, but not less melodious. I cannot say anything more – it’s a secret hidden even from myself.

Treciadiene (Rasa):

Have you recorded that song from Mulholland Dr.?

You can hear the song "Llorando" only at my concerts, which is marvellous, as it sounds a bit differently every time – it’s like listening to several different records of the same song. When I saw "Mulholland Drive", the lonely song of Rebekah del Rio, it shocked me to my heels, and then I have made the decision: if I ever be able to sign it, I will know that singing is the way I must follow. I am not going to record it, yet it inspired me to write a Lithuanian song in a similar mood. It will be included into my second album.

Interested person:

Is there a back vocal of Andrius Mamontovas in the song "Nebijok", at the time 2 min. 55 s?

I am honoured to inform you that the voice of Andrius Mamontovas can be heard in more than just one song – "Nebijok". For example, there is another song in "Aukso Pieva", where you can hear voices of both persons named Andrius Mamontovas ("Kai Pamirsi Tu Mane").

Akwile:

What are you dreaming of? When will you come to Kedainiai? What kind of people do you like? Do you want to communicate with your fans? Did you like the bouquet of flowers we gave you after the final concert of the national Eurovision contest?

I am dreaming of coming to Kedainiai :) In earnest, I have several dreams. The most important of them are: the feeling of safety and security in the world; doing what I like to for the longest possible time; to see as much world as possible, travelling and giving my concerts, etc. I am going to give a concert in Kedainiai on April 17 – I will be waiting for you there. What I like most is communicating with people who respect others, are able to communicate in the silence, are demanding to music and want to achieve something in their life. I also like those who have a good sense of humour and feel the mood of people close to them. As you can see, I am communicating with my fans. :) Thank you for the flowers; flowers always make me feel warm...

Gui:

I am from Brazil, and the lithuanian is far away of my comprehension. But What kind of feeling do you want to transmit through Vakar lijio cia? I know that music is universal language, and I believe that you are doing this... hugs

Everybody reads metaphors in his or her particular way - they are the most universal language in the world. :) It was raining here yesterday The fog is on the grass. I am laying down. It has been raining here yesterday. Too close to the water. I am afraid. I do not know the way out of the woods. The night is playing with silence. The sadness sits down close to me.

Rael:

When will you give a concert in Estonia?

So far, we have had some concerts only in Latvia. We will come for sure, if you invite us. :)

Sona:

You remind me of Angelina Jolie!!! Lithuanian version :) Do you date women?

:)

Rael:

Have you ever thought about taking part the Eurovision Song Contest? I think you could be very succesful there. And ofcourse I would like to know when will come out your new album?:)

Hei, best regards from New Zeland:) I'll be back in two days and then we''l try to finish second album. It's possible that we'll be in time and You'll hear new songs on April. Marja-Leena Muukka:

Hi Jurga! I just came back from Vilnius with my family. We visited amongst all the famous TV Tower (TV Boksta) where I found very touching moments at the exhibition in the honour of the victims and especially in the cafeteria through the music they played there. I decided to find out who was this curiously fascinating singer and then the waitress showed me the cover of your new album. I immediately bought the record Instrucija when we came back to Vilniaus Street. We have listened to the album continuosly and especially the four last tracks are our favourite songs. In Per Silpna there is even kind of a feeling of a national anthem! Have you ever heard the music of the Greek singer Kristi Stassinopoulou? I recommend her music to you. Such lovely and powerful female energy; the same that I get when listening to your songs. I wish all the best into your life, both to your career and to your personal life as well. Just enjoy yourself! All the best, Marja-Leena Muukka, graphic designer.

It's soooo nice to hear things like that, You can't imagine:) I believe, that music You need finds You itself, wenever You are and whatever You're doing. It's realy tuching, when I hear my music finds people. Enjoy it. I'll write some new songs, be sure of it:)have a nice music.Jurga

Pedro (Pepe):

Hi Jurga, I am a Brazilian guy living/working in Stockholm, Sweden. Last weekend I took the Tallink Cruise from Stockholm to Riga, Latvia and was killing time at the Karaoke bar in the boat when my heart was kidnapped by your music/voice and carisma. Some chosed to sign Laisve and though I could not understand a single word, besides Laisve (which think means freedom), I wrote down Laisve and today I managed to find/meet you and wanted to share it with. I trully/deeply love music....your music touched my sould and made me cry (today even more after I managed to find the lyrics and a rough translation as I do not speak Lithuanian). You are, without anydoubts, one of the best singers/composers in the world...better yet you sign with your heart/soul and the message transcendes the language barrier. Thank you very very very much. You now have a huge/big Brazilian FAN and I will trully hope that you continue to raise beyond and above...the sky is the limit...and you a star. Hope that you are planning concerts here in Scandinavia and/or Baltic states - I would go anywhere - to watch you singing. Absolutely FANTASTIC. I will be always with you. Pedro

Hey, thanks for nice words - it realy helps. Actualy You're not the only one who don't understand Lithuanian:) so I decided to translate my songs. Just to make You understand what they're about. Raimo Tikkanen:

Thank You, for the opportunity to meet you after your concert at Club Tamsta, Vilnius, on 25th April. It was a rare moment to share some emotions between the fans and the artist as well. And as I told you then, me and my wife only came to Lithuania because of your music. And I suppose our exceptations were scaringly high before the concert, but… You and your astonishing, progressively playing band were even better!! Together you are musically a very strong team. As memory we got some magnicent photos. You have The Voice, You are The Soul. Loving greetings from Finland, Raimo Tikkanen & Marja-Leena Muukka

You're welcomme:) It was realy surprising to know You came just to hear us. I'm glad You enjoyed the concert.
