Special Edition of Jurga's Album "Aukso pieva"

A special edition of Jurga’s debut album “Aukso pieva”, supplemented with a book of notes and written music will be available at the shops this week. “Aukso pieva” has become the first album of Lithuanian popular music with an enclosed book of notes and chords.

The original album appeared in September of 2005, but after three years it is still in great demand in music shops. Jurga’s fans often ask her to send them the chords for one or another song therefore this edition was issued upon their request.

“Although I compose my songs while playing the piano, I have already had the possibility to learn the guitar accompaniment for these songs,” – smiles the singer in inviting people to not only learn to play the songs from “Aukso pieva” but also to develop them. Jurga hopes that such a book will not be the last one. She offers thanks to Vaclovas Augustinas, the music specialist who contributed to the publishing of this book and the guitarist of her band Romas Rainys, who wrote down the positions of the guitar chords.

Vaclovas Augistinas, composer, conductor and member of band “Antis”, contributed to the “Aukso pieva” album by working with the notes collection and its musical edition. According to him, the publishing of such a notes and chords book together with an album is a revolutionary idea in Lithuania because it is the first such event. “This edition not only provides a solidity and solemnity to the Lithuanian musical world, but is also significantly educational for those who want to learn to play. It prompts one to play”, – says the music specialist.

Vaclovas Augistinas has been deep into the songs of Jurga’s first album more than anyone else. According to him, it is a solid and mature project which resounds with fresh, warm and professionally implemented music and the songs and their accompaniment are not banal, “not just three chords”.

“The album has subtle things, so those who try to reproduce this music will feel this tenuous line which distinguishes this music from common pop music.  This is for sure one of the strongest music albums in Lithuania generally,” – Vaclovas Augustinas is sure. Working with the musical accompaniment of “Aukso pieva” was a great pleasure for him.

Nearly 23,000 fans have purchased the “Aukso pieva” album. This record is the most successful music album that has been published by the M.P.3 agency. "Such an achievement is above the expectations in a country where 5000 albums is already a big achievement”, - said Vaidas Stackevičius, the head of the company M.P.3. According to him, the durability of this music has been proven by the fact that even after two years, the demand has not vanished. This durability is also influenced by the special edition, i.e. a phenomena which almost does not exist in the world of Lithuanian music.

The “Aukso pieva” album has received the biggest acknowledgement in the history of Lithuanian music. The debut album of Jurga received three “Bravo” and three “Radiocentras” awards three years ago. The songs “Nebijok” [Don’t be afraid] and “Aukso pieva” were the most popular Lithuanian songs for two consecutive years on the M-1 radio stations. “Nebijok” was the most popular song of “Radiocentras” in 2005, and it has been the top hit on this radio station for eight weeks. “Lietuvos radijas” elected the song “Nebijok” as the most popular song of the year. The singer and album, as well as songs from the album, also received some awards from “Pravda”, “Ore”, “Baltic Optical Disc”, JP and others.

“Instrukcija”, the second album of Jurga was published in Spring 2007 - a year and a half after the release of "Aukso pieva" - and also was very successful.  Nearly 17,000 fans purchased this album. The album not only received Lithuanian, but also the first international awards for Jurga: she won the song festival in Sweden and the MTV EMA award for the Best Baltic Act.

Although Jurga has introduced her new songs “Tyliai” and “Centre of the World”, which was produced together with Virus J, as well as presented her most recent video, “I Wonder”, to her fans this year, music listeners can only expect her third disc next year.

Jurga and her band invite all to listen to her new songs, as well as previous ones which have already become popular, at her live concert in the “Forum Palace”, Vilnius, on 21st November. It will be her last concert this year and the only one in the latter half of the year.  Tickets are still available at “Bilietai.Lt” sales offices. Those who attend the concert will be able to renew their collections of musical records with a special edition of the “Aukso pieva” album.
